WELCOME Acapuoco Beaches
Playa Caleta beaches was made famous because they were the preferred center of entertainment for both the Mexican, and the Hollywood Stars coming to Acapulco. The Caleta Beaches are a favorite as they are protected by a larger Island "Isla Roqueta" making Caleta beach a preferred by many families.
The Caleta beach as well as the Caleta Hotel, now a Meigas Hotel; Hotel Grand Meigas Acapulco, has maintain the original charm lined with magnificent Palapa type beach restaurants. Caleta beach on one side of Grand Meigas Resort which has a bridge that runs out to a small island where you find Magic Sea World (Magico Mundo Marino) with all the shows. The dock is where many many of the day cruise boats leave and return.
Caletilla Beach on the other side of Grand Meigas Resort is favored by the Resort guest as other entrances to this small beach is very limited allowing the entrance from the Caleta Grand Meigas Resort, forming a private beach.
Playa Hornos Almost in front of the Zocalo, these beaches have a common northeast orientation on the side of the bay. The atmosphere here is decidedly a family one, with a host of restaurants, eateries and palm trees, providing it with just that post card look for our memories. The names hornos and hornitos come from the great brickwork ovens which were sited here during the 17th and 19th Centuries. The beaches have a lot of traffic in the morning due to this being the departure and entry point for the fishermen.
Playa Icacos is the longest beach in the bay, to be found at the south end, stretching from Hotel El President, where the waves are fairly strong to the Hyatt where the waves are calmer. Famed for the restaurants, bars and discos which line the coast. It is a place where you can enjoy an enormous lobster as well as dance the macarena. Those who have been trapped by its sensuality, say that it is sand is finer and more sensual and that when resting upon it, time slips by in ephemeral minutes and that it is just as easy to make up fantasies as it is castles in the air; they also say that it is possible to meet the perfect partner here.
Playa Pichilinque and Playa de Puerto Marques. This beautiful little Bay has two beaches; where you find many residential retreats. You will find some of the nice beach front restaurants in this area, the tranquil waters of the bay support some very good swimming and sun bathing. It is said that the name comes from the title that was held by the Conquistador of New Spain, Don Hernan Cortes, when he first came to these latitudes; but however, that may be, one thing that is certain is that the bays calm seas make it just perfect for water sports enthusiasts. Moreover, the exuberant vegetation that surrounds the bay makes a perfect back drop of exceptional beauty to a fine sandy beach that is perfect for swimming.
