Deep Sea Fishing
Going deep-sea fishing is bound to be quite an experience in Cancun. Just a short distance outside the bay you'll find the species that is just right for the avid sport fisherman or the beginner. Among the most sot after of course are the marlin and the sail fish, but there are plenty of other species that give a good battle and are very enjoyable catching.
Only the experienced sport fisherman fully knows what it is like to struggle with a furious opponent, who knows all the concentration and the application of all the acquired knowledge and technique required, however, a prize catch 7 to 10 ft. and weighing in at a few hundred lbs. is worth the whole effort. The big one are great but many a beginner has gotten hooked their self after just one trip deep sea fishing and return time and time again.
Just go to the marina there are boats from a small skip to most any size yacht one would desire, with crews that go our daily and know when and where to catch exactly what it takes to make your fantasies come to life. Prices average from $100 to about $300 USD.

For both the expert and the novice alike, Cancun is an exceptional place for lovers of diving. The seabed offers marvelous world of adventures, without having to get too far off shore and away from the bay.
There are a number of PADI and NAUI schools in the area which are easily recognizable by their well known flags, offering equipment rental and facilities for getting to the best dive sites, such as; The Isla, just across the channel from The Grand Meigas Resort. If it's your first time at this type of activity, don't worry, after just a few lessons you'll have the basic technique to give it a try. However, it is very important that you only try this with accredited instructors and schools. There is no such thing as taking to many precautions in this sport.
Snorkeling
This is an ideal alternative for those who don't really feel comfortable fully submerging in a dive, yet who still would like to take a look at and explore the marine life there is to be seen. There are a number of excellent places for snorkeling where you can also rent the gear you need. One of these is at Isla Roqueta across the channel from Grand Meigas Resort.
